Shoes.com

What can you say about a website with a name like Shoes.com?  It is pretty much all in the name with that one.  Shoes.com has been one of the most popular shoe retailing sites since its founding.  People all over the US recognize the name and they are the lucky ones as they managed to latch onto a high dollar domain in the process.

The first thing that greets you on the landing page is the free shipping in bold across the top below the nav bar.  One can not argue with that kind of marketing as it tends to bring out the buyer in us all.  To all 50 states this company will ship all shoes purchased through their site.  Being a subsidiary of a much larger company that is openly traded on the stock market helps them to bring this type of service to people.

Like many other sites Shoes.com allows the visitors to search the site in the manner which they desire.  First off you can start with a simple brand search.  This will tell you if one of the 200 brands of shoes that they carry is offered.  Once you are there then the narrowing of the search results can begin.

Searching by size is a very popular feature for companies such as this.  Rather then searching through a bunch of results hoping that they have the size that you want, you can narrow the field only to those brands that are available in the desired size. This saves the person a lot of time and saves more time for the buying of a pair of shoes then just searching around for the shoes themselves.

A feature that is not found on other sites but is offered through Shoes.com is the bill me later deal.  Rather then having to wait around until you have paid down that credit card or added more money to the debit card you can go ahead and buy then have the company charge the card at a later date.  This is a kind of reverse lay-away feature that is becoming ever so popular with the companies, including airlines.

There is very little that the company that is Shoes.com could be doing differently.  The only annoying part of their site is the constant refresh that helps them to display shoe ads.  You will find that a 10 minute visit will have the page refreshing just as many times.
