Many people have the wrong impression for About.com and what it is that they do.  For one thing, they are not a retail establishment in any way shape or form.  The only they sell is advertising space on their many websites.  Not only that, they are all about the information.  When you type in a search to an engine there will most likely be a result that comes from About.com.  This is because they have built the largest and most widely used informational database to be found anywhere in the world today and they are masters at getting the attention they deserve.

Shoes.about.com is the basic About.com site.  This area is all set up to tell everything just about anything they ever wanted to know about shoes and maybe a bit more they have no desire to know.

The page that you land on will guide you through the latest in fashion when it comes to shoes and boots.  These are written by the About.com freelance staff that is one of the largest and highest paying freelance networks in the world.

The price comparison feature is nice but it does take a long while to load and will not work all the time.  You should be aware that the comparison is only for online retailers that are advertising with About.com at that point so it may not be an accurate reading.

The most annoying thing about this site is the pop up windows that appear as soon as you arrive.  There is not one, but three active pop up windows on every About.com page.  Most of them will be blocked by the blocker but some of them get through which can be very annoying to say the least.

All in all this is a good site if you are just looking for some information, even though a lot of it is completely off the wall and of no use to anyone.
