Sock-shoes and transparency on block heels.
My experience as a designer has shown me that materials play the most important part in creating new series and collections.
No matter how beautiful a design is or how well made it is, if new leathers, soles and other design elements are not used, the creations become old and passé.
The shoe that is a current favourite and which I have been wearing is very much in vogue this year. With not too much design over thinking, the two modern and fresh materials that have been used (clear plastic and sock) are enough to be considered completely in style.
My black sandal is made out of a grey transparent plastic on the front, while the back is ankle wrap of a beautiful sock.
We saw sock-shoes in the winter which were very fashionable. The shoe I wear is a continuation of the winter boots and sneakers worn during the previous season - and that they will continue to be popular next winter.
Clear plastic was also showcased last winter continuing into the summer season with all types of shoes; keep in mind that we will see this material from the likes of large fashion houses such as Chanel for A/W 2018-19.
I loved them right from the beginning for how comfortable they are, as well as how they fit on the foot.
Their thick matte block heel makes them easy to wear, making them perfect for summer evenings.
I don’t know about you, but I am really loving this year’s thick heels as over the last few years I can’t stand to stand for a long time wearing my thin high-heeled shoes.
I wore these favourite shoes with a green floral on a black background jumpsuit which I tied around the open back so that it fitted perfectly on the bust. Meanwhile, the tears of the garment on the front of the legs gave the whole ensemble movement whilst also showcasing the shoes.
I loved this dynamic outfit because it was so comfortable and because it fit in exactly with the style of Girlboss.
