In 2008 after creative director Valentino Garavani departed, the new director, Pierpaolo Piccioli modernise the traditionally glamorous Valentino with a fresh, street attitude without forgetting its past. The Rockstud collection was one of the best parts of this transition that continues until today as one of most recognisable, iconic looks.
Since launching in 2010, Valentino's Rockstud lines have sold out every season, even with costs from around 500 € and as much as 1700 € for a highly embellished pair.
From the red carpet in Hollywood to royal palaces and even clattering along the streets all around the world, they're the shoes that celebrities can't get enough of.
The pyramidal studs add a decorative, jewellery flair without being overly delicate. A Rockstud piece that can fit into everybody's wardrobe differently is teamed with everything from casual ripped jeans and shorts to red carpet dresses. With a wide range of heel sizes, styles, and colours, those shoes, can easily transition from day to night looks. The Rockstuds help accentuate looks with the perfect, standout touch.
Many their appeal is likely to continue because they're incredibly versatile.
That’s why the Rockstud trend has been named as best fashion investment as it holds value.
Let's have a look at the spring-summer 2018 collection that I photographed from Valentino shop in Milan.
My prefered shoe is the yellow shock-fit bootie with white Rockstuds.
