I am not afraid to change and that is leading me to new beginnings.
It was the first time in my career that I went to a shoe fair with the identity of a blogger and not of a shoe designer. Completely out of my comfort zone, with very mixed feelings and the work that I had to do was completely different.
As a shoe designer, my interest for trends and styles was similar with the style of my clients. This time I was completely free to explore all the different types of shoes, to discuss for collaborations and to introduce myself as a blogger.
Every beginning seems to be difficult but I am planning to enjoy this journey.
Micam is the no.1 event for all professionals in the shoe industry with an attendance of almost 50,000 visitors. It is organized twice a year in Milan and the exibited shoes correspond to the collections that will end up in stores… a year later.
In this shoe fair, to support the Italian manufacturing industry, the historic companies of Fendi, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Prada and Tod’s, were joined by important brands new to the event, such as Giorgio Armani, Jimmy Choo, Dolce&Gabbana, Sergio Rossi and Ermenegildo Zegna.
With 7 huge halls and 1,400 exhibitors, my precious shoes were hiding in every corner and a simple visit turned into a marathon to cover each section and not miss anything.
I can't wait to share with you all the information that I took from the fair!
